About Portal Cedar Hub
Learn about Portal Cedar Hub, a Daegu-based practice specialising in yearly cold wallet verification appointments since 2019.
Registered Business
Portal Cedar Hub is the official registered business name under which we operate. We were established in 2019 in Daegu, South Korea, to address a gap we kept encountering: people who had carefully moved assets to cold storage but had no structured process for checking whether their backups would actually work when needed.
How We Began
Our founder, Ji-hoon Park, spent years helping family members recover access to forgotten exchange accounts and poorly documented hardware wallets. After a relative nearly lost a substantial holding because a seed phrase backup had faded ink on thermal paper, Ji-hoon began offering informal review sessions from a small office near Daegu Station. Word spread through local investment clubs and expatriate communities, and by late 2019 the practice had a formal name and a dedicated consultation room on Demo-ro.
What We Do Today
Portal Cedar Hub conducts in-person verification appointments for offline cryptocurrency wallets. We are not an exchange, broker, or custodian. We do not hold, move, or manage your assets. Our role is to witness and document the condition of your custody setup — seed phrase backups, hardware devices, passphrase configuration, and any written records you maintain.
Each verifier on our team has completed our internal certification programme, which covers BIP-39 recovery formats, common hardware wallet models, multi-signature arrangements, and the physical security practices we expect clients to follow. We revisit our training materials annually as new wallet models and backup methods enter the market.
Our Approach
We believe cold wallet custody is a physical discipline as much as a technical one. Paper degrades. Devices fail. People forget passphrases they chose five years ago. A yearly verification appointment creates a fixed point in your calendar to confirm everything still lines up.
Our sessions are deliberately low-tech. We use printed checklists, handwritten notes, and stamped verification reports. We do not connect your devices to our network. We do not photograph your seed phrases. We do not retain copies of your recovery information after the session ends.
Community in Daegu
We participate in occasional seminars hosted by Daegu’s fintech association, though our work remains appointment-based rather than event-driven. Several of our clients are small business treasurers who hold company reserves in cold storage and need documented verification for their auditors.
Values
Discretion. Your custody details stay in the consultation room.
Honesty. If we find a problem, we tell you plainly and help you plan a fix.
Patience. Wallet recovery is stressful. We move at your pace.
